2020 Episcopal Urban Caucus Assembly

Church & The Gentrifying City: Beyond Community Development

STATEMENT FROM THE EPISCOPAL URBAN CAUCUS

We are writing to tell you that the board of directors of the Episcopal Urban Caucus, like all other civic, secular and religious organizations is postponing our 2020 Assembly.

We do this in an abundance of caution and regard for all who would be traveling and those in Memphis who would be hosting, and in our desire to keep God’s people safe.  We are discussing another date – possibly in the fall when we can reschedule the Assembly in Memphis.  We are in the process of redesigning our website and will be keeping you informed through the updated site as well as Facebook and other media.

In the meanwhile, we join you in praying for healing and wellness as we continue to pray for our Church.

God who in Jesus stills the storm and soothes the frantic heart; bring hope and courage to all who wait or work in uncertainty.  Bring hope that you will make them the equal of whatever lies ahead.  Bring them courage to endure what cannot be avoided, for your will is health and wholeness; you are God, and we need you.  (Adapted from New Zealand Prayer Book, p. 765).
