2019 Episcopal Urban Caucus Assembly
The Church & The Gentrifying City: Reimagining Urban Ministry
March 20 - 23, 2019
The Episcopal Urban Caucus invites you to participate in an ecumenical convening of lay and ordained ministers, leaders, community organizers, thinkers, and practitioners. At the 2019 EUC Assembly we will reimagine the call of the church in today’s cities & urbanized suburbs.
The rapid gentrification of today’s cities has significant racial, economic, environmental, and demographic implications for people, communities, and institutions across the country. Those committed to preserving and expanding justice in urban spaces are implementing successful strategies, seeking lessons learned, and gaining insights from the inevitable temporary setbacks faced.
What can we learn from the community organizing, advocacy, community economic development, and urban ministry innovations in Baltimore, Boston, Memphis, Detroit, Los Angeles, and Seattle? What questions, practices, and initiatives do you want to share with practitioners from other cities and denominations?
Join us as we build relationships and enhance our capacity to co-labor for justice in the city and reimagine urban ministry.
