standing in solidarity
The Episcopal Urban Caucus stands in solidarity with all Asian Americans in this
time of increased violence…
The Episcopal Urban Caucus stands in solidarity with all Asian Americans in this time of increased violence and white supremacist murder. We recommit ourselves to ending all forms of racism. We humbly assure our Episcopal Asian American fellow parishioners and friends that the Caucus is with you in our struggle to redeem a denomination which white supremacy has defamed and distorted the Gospel message to love thy neighbor. The EUC has always spoken out against systems, -isms, policies, and even our own communities when we, and the places our churches are located have strayed from recognizing the face of God in each other. This moment is no different. Understanding that we are all God’s children, created equally, we join our voices with those that cry out in lament and anguish. Together we proclaim that these overt actions of hatred must cease. We live in the hope that only God can give, that one day all of God’s children will live with true equity and in peace.
Prayer for the Human Race BCP p.815
O God, you made us in your own image and redeemed us through Jesus your Son: Look with compassion on the whole human family; take away the arrogance and hatred which infect our hearts; break down the walls that separate us; unite us in bonds of love; and work through our struggle and confusion to accomplish your purposes on earth; that, in your good time, all nations and races may serve you in harmony around your heavenly throne; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
